To us, cultural experiences in India are about
just being, not doing. We love to experience the simple life where we see locals who are content with what they have. Many people in Varanasi are content with their traditional lifestyle. Sirish and I love to relate with villagers and locals, while drinking tea with them.
Some experiences that we enjoy and can share with you:
1.
Stay overnight in a village of farmers and weavers. Observe how people are content with a simple life where they are just being, not doing. Get to know the locals and life near the Ganges river. There are vegetables growing, cows to milk and boating on the river. Meet with weavers in the village.

2. Visit locals in Varanasi and get to see the inside of their home. Chat with locals and get to know them. Experience what true hospitality is. When inside people's homes, guests feel so welcome, as I feel Indians are truly the most hospitable people!

4. Meditation. Sirish can lead powerful silent or guided meditations on the river. He has over two years experience leading meditation.
5. Visit Gurudwaras with our Sikh friends and experience the warmth and friendliness of Sikh temples.
6. Susan's Kitchen. Susan can teach you about Indian culture while you learn some Indian dishes. For instance, learn what it was like for Susan to live in a joint family, mother and daughter in law dynamics in the kitchen, the importance of round roti, etc.
